Judge limits Limbaugh inquiry

Palm Beach County Circuit Court Judge David Crow ruled today that prosecutors may subpoena Rush Limbaugh's doctors as part of their investigation into alleged «doctor shopping» by Limbaugh, who has admitted that he was addicted to prescription painkillers and has already voluntarily completed a 30-day inpatient rehabilitation program. The judge limited the scope of prosecutors questions, prohibiting their asking questions about Limbaugh's medical condition or any confidential discussions between the doctors and Limbaugh. The state has been investigating Limbaugh for two years in an unusually agressive prosecution that many believe is politically motivated.

«. . . The state's interrogation of [Limbaugh's] physicians shall not include 'discussion of the medical condition of the patient and any information disclosed to the healthcare practitioner by the patient in the course of the care and treatment of the patient,' » Crow wrote, citing a state statute.

Kim Komando Explains Rootkits

Digital Goddess Kim Komando, the techie queen of the airwaves, explains rootkits - what they are, why they are such a threat and how you can try to detect and defeat them. Komando is the host of the popular number 9 radio talk show (and number 1 for weekend talk). Rootkits have come to the forefront recently as a result of their use by Sony BMG Music to add invisible, unremovable copy protection to CDs, which in the process exposed millions of users computers to a potentially very virus and hacking threat.

From Komando.com:

A rootkit is not a virus. Rather, it is a small program that burrows into the most basic, most powerful level of Windows. It can then tell Windows it is not there. That makes it impossible for anti-virus and anti-spyware programs to find it.
